All About Us
We are Greg and Georgia Fitzhugh from Lancaster Texas, where our family has resided for five generations. Those generations have produced a history of small farms, general stores and other small business. Our web-store, Caregiver-Aid.com is family owned and operated by our company, Caregiver-Aid LLC, where we carry on the family tradition – “The Customer is Always Right”.
Why should you trust us?
Most importantly, we want to earn your trust. We have experienced being family caregivers ourselves. We cared for my mother as she fought and lost her battle with lung cancer, and again with my mother-in-law who lived to be a few months short of 90 years old. For thirteen years these experiences helped to give us first-hand knowledge of the trials and the blessings of family caregiving. We promise to do our best to supply you with information and tools that will help to make your work and life a little easier.
Georgia is a teacher-tutor, and mom with degrees in Rehabilitation Science and Special Education. Greg is a carpenter, project manager, and dad with an Executive Certificate in Home Modifications for safe, accessible homes.
The Needs of Family Caregivers
There are 53 million adults who are caregivers for adult or child family members in the U.S.
About half of these caregivers expect to be caring for someone for the next 5 years.
Most senior citizens prefer to age-in-place and stay in their present home for as long as possible.
Family caregivers live in a variety of settings: with the senior, nearby the senior, or at a long distance and still maintain a caregiving relationship.
